Sermon Passage for Reflection/Discussion: 1 Cor. 1:1-9

Jan 18.png

In 1 Corinthians 1: 1-9, Paul affirms that through Christ we are sustained by grace. Through Him, our spirits are strengthened and enriched, empowering us to face any challenge before us. No matter the circumstances, God remains faithful, standing with us and never leaving our side.                                                                     – Usi Mix, Elder for Christian Ed

  1. What does being "sanctified in Christ and called to be His holy people" (v.2, NIV) mean to you personally? Look it up in the NRSV also and compare the different translations. How do you see yourself being called in light of this - to what end?

     2. When Paul says that God "will keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ" (v.8), how can that empower you to live your life as a Christian?

     3. God has given gifts to all of us who are in Christ, spiritual gifts. Do you know your gift(s)? How do you use them to help your community and church?
